Imperial War Museum - Duxford

Went on a Lads day out yesterday with my Dad. We wnt to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. I havent been for quite a long time and it was amazing. I took 124 photos whilst I was there. Heres a few of my favorites.

Concorde - Looking more like a space ship

Phantom - Prossibly the best Fighter plane in the whole world

Victor - From behind... I love the tail wing of this monster.

Blackbird - Spy plane and still world record holder of the highest altitude acheived by airplane.

PSP - The future??

So this was what was in the box. A brand new PSP straight from Japan. I have now spent a few days with it. So its time for some first impressions.

The PSP has been on the cards for a while. I thought that it would be the power of the PS One, but I was very surprised to find out at last years E3 expo it was actually a portable PS2. The machine itself is smaller than I imagined, probably a little larger than the original GBA.

When you first power on, you have to go through a quick set-up procedure. This includes language, nickname for the machine date and time. Once you set the machine to English there is no Japanese in the front end.

The front end is where the power of this machine truely shows it self. From here, you can access options, photos, mp3s. videos and games. Photos, videos, and mp3s are stored on the Memory Stick included with machine. The value pack includes a 32MB memory stick, but it can take Duo Pro sticks upto a 1GB. Video playback requires that files are encoded to MP4 and there are various programs to help you do this on the web.

Lets get on to the meat of the console.... the games. I got a copy of Ridge Racers with my value pack. All I can say is from the minute the opening CGI starts you know that this is the future of mobile gaming. Ridge Racers looks and plays like a PS2 racer. The 4.3 inch LCD screen makes gaming a thing of beauty. It is so sharp (Funnily enough the screen is made by Sharp) and although there is some ghosting its not enough to spoil the experience.

I would go on and on about this console for hours, but instead I am going back to bed to play Ridge Racers and watch the latest episodes of 24 on the best console I have seen since the megadrive!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, a Happy New Year to you all.

So... 2005 then! I do not know where the last year went. This year though is going to be different though. I am fighting back from last years laziness to life by the horns this year.

My New Year resolutions
1. Give up bread - I eat roughly 8 slices a per day.
2. Give sugary soft drinks - Pepsi Max the way to go.
3. Exercise - i need my fat ass back down the swimming pool
4. Do all of the above to make myself feel and look better, so I can carry on smoking for another year!

Also, this year I have decided to try and make some money for the tsunami fund by some sort of fundraiser. I have no details yet as to what, when and where. But I shall post them here as I get info.

Peace to all
